FAQ: How can I verify my identity on the Duo Mobile app?

Using the Duo Mobile app on your mobile device as a security token is the most convenient way to complete authentication. The app offers two authentication methods:

  • Duo Push – it is the quickest way to authenticate your identity with a single tap on your mobile device
  • Passcode – it does not require network connection, making it ideal when there is no Internet connection on your mobile device or when you are travelling

     

    When you log in a system/service covered by Duo, you can choose the authentication method on the Duo login authentication page.

  • Click "Send Me a Push" to receive a notification for approval on your registered device.

  • Then, click “Approve” on the Duo Mobile app as the second step of verification.
PasscodeUsers can retrieve the verification code generated with the Duo Mobile app even when there is no Internet connection. The code is renewed every 30 seconds.

  • Choose "Enter a Passcode" on the Duo login authentication page.
