Karen was one of the first senior tutors to be “stationed” at a student hostel ten years ago. During her two years at the student hostel, Karen took excellent care of “her boarders”, establishing close friendships with them. Ten years have since passed and she is now living in Senior Staff Quarters. Although she no longer shoulders any “official duties”, she still remembers and cherishes her days, with the students in the hostels.
Karen still vividly remembers a very special incident from those days. On that particular day, the No.10 typhoon signal was hoisted and the stormy weather simply barred anyone from going out. Knowing that many students in the hostel did not stock any food, Karen initiated an “instant noodles donation campaign”. Students with instant noodle “stocks” responded to Karen’s campaign, generously sharing their
“private collection” with others. In the end, the stormy night turned into an evening of warmth and care.
