FAQ: How to select from various SSIDs and wireless connection methods at EdUHK?

Various SSIDs are provided at EdUHK. Staff and students are recommended to configure their mobile devices (e.g. laptop, smartphone and tablet) to access the wireless network using the SSIDs recommended below (marked with *) as they are more secure. The device can usually reconnect with the same SSID automatically. Please avoid using Wi-Fi.HK via EdUHK as data transmitted is not encrypted and users should avoid conducting sensitive transactions. The pros and cons of different SSIDs are tabulated as follows:

* Users are recommended to use SSID Hostel or Quarters when they are in the hostel or at staff quarters so that they could enjoy the strongest signal. When users are on the main campus, TKOSC or NPSC, they are recommended to use EdUHK.
