Counselling Services
Me Space

 

This special spot is subsidized by a Special Grant from the University Grants Committee to strengthen student support services. The Counselling Services Section of SAO has designed and established this 'Me Space' to provide a private area where users can experience a personalized mental wellness journey.

 

Located on the ground floor (The Lounge) of the MMW Library, it is open 24 hours daily and designed for use by one person at a time. Advance booking is available for EdUHK students and staff with EdUHK accounts, through the Library Booking System.

 

The activities you can do in this area include:

1. Mindfulness Practice:

  • You can do mindfulness exercises guided by audio. It aids in relaxation.
  • Cantonese, English, and Putonghua versions are available.

Each exercise lasts 3-7 minutes

2. Wellness Journey:

  • You can listen to inspirational stories of people who have overcome mental health challenges.

Each story lasts 3-7 minutes

3. Space-out:

  • Use as a quiet place for unwinding.

5-30 minutes is recommended

Seating Capacity

1 user

 

Compulsory Check-In Time

The user who made the booking must check in on-site within 10 minutes after the start of each session. Otherwise, the Library has the right to cancel the booking.

 

Booking Quota

Duration of 1 session is 30 minutes. A maximum of 2 sessions can be reserved per day per user.

 

Period of Advance Booking

7 days in advance.

Walk-ins are welcome. However, you are encouraged to sign up in the booking system to ensure availability.

 

Rules for Using “Me Space”

  1. “Me Space” is a designated area dedicated to promoting personal inner peace and mental well-being. Other activities, such as study-related activities, playing games, watching videos, and browsing social media, are not permitted.
  2. To maintain a pleasant environment for all users, eating or drinking inside the “Me Space” is not allowed. Please keep the place clean and tidy.
  3. The Library does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage of personal belongings unattended on the premises.
