Flag Raising Training Course

As a future educator, it is definitely an advantage to understand the national flag and the regional flag and flag raising skills! Enrich your skills and enhance your personal competitiveness! In addition to marching and flag-raising skills, you can also develop your leadership skills, accumulate experience in uniform groups, and build up the spirit of serving the society.

After completion of the course and practicum, a certificate will be issued.

Important notes:

1. Participants must complete the course 100% in order to retrieve the deposit and receive the certificate. (The course refers to attending two days of training sessions and participating in two flag-raising ceremony, and)
   
   
2. The dates for the flag-raising ceremony are 1 Jan 2024, 1 July 2024, 2 Sep 2024 and 1 Oct 2024. Students must participate in two of these flag-raising ceremony as practicum. We will try our best to assign the dates based on students' preferences; however, in case of any disputes, the Student Affairs Office reserves the right to make the final decision.

3. The rehearsal for the flag-raising ceremony will be scheduled one week prior to the flag-raising ceremony day, in any two days, and the exact time will be determined later.

Attention to the graduates of the academic year 23/24:

• If you are a graduate of the academic year 23/24, you have to complete the flag-raising ceremony scheduled on 1 January 2024 and 1 July 2024, before 31 August 2024. No extensions will be allowed. Deposits will not be refunded if you fail to complete the requirements.

Language: Cantonese (supplemented with Mandarin)

Eligibility: All full-time UGC-funded students

Fee: Free ($500 deposit can be fully refunded after the completion of the course and practicum)

Quota:  20 students (Limited quota, first come first served)
