随着社会、文化及经济发展,社会对语文运用有了新的要求。语文不单是传意工具,同时是建立人际关系与传播文化的重要媒介。与此同时,香港的语文教育也有重大的转向,从语文工具性的教学取向转移到兼顾语文的人文性;从强调知识的掌握,进而重视情意、美感的培育。均衡发展学生在语文、文学及文化三方面的知识,提升学生沟通、审美、创新及探究的能力,是当前的语文教育任务,也是社会对语文人才培育的期待。
