Three novice Chinese scholars have received recognition for their literary efforts in the form of awards and certificates in local competitions. Chan Pui-yee, Wong Wai-ping and Gu Pei-yu are all beginners in creative writing. It is due largely to the teaching and encouragement of Dr Wong Leung-wo, Senior Lecturer of the Chinese Department, that they have been able to win their first awards at such a young age.
Chinese Department lecturer nurtures literary talents
Dr Wong Leung-wo takes great pains to
encourage students to engage in literary
writing. The publication of his students' work
in "Trees are singing - Poem Selection by
HKIEd students" and "Literary Century" magazin
is well deserved success for him and his students.
