"The tutors are so good in speaking English! In fact, I find them even better than my English teacher in school. (I mean in speaking English!) I would like to join the camp next summer holidays and keep in touch with them. They are so nice and they help me a lot! I will miss them!."

"It is amazingly surprising when you see them arguing with each other in English when playing games, and you'll know that they have got used to doing things, even trivial things, in English." Derek, final year Bachelor of Education (Languages) student.

Reflections

"We did encounter different problems during the preparation period as this was a brand new project and we just started everything from nothing, e.g. themes and topics that were fun, meaningful and coherent enough to motivate teens to learn English. I felt totally over the moon not only when I found that our designed thematically-based and goal-oriented activities did really engage the teens in the authentic and practical use of the English, but also when I realised that we had been actually incorporating theories that underpin task-based learning into practice!"

Joanne,
final year Bachelor of Education (Languages) student.
