Nurturing a new generation of teachers
Another programme participant was an experienced alumna, Ms Chung Wai-chee. Ms Chung hopes that by taking part in this meaningful exercise, her teaching experience will both make a contribution to and help nurture a new generation of teachers.

"Some of the students participating in the Inner Mongolia programme were previously under my mentorship. I am very proud to see how their teaching has matured and grown in confidence. I am also delighted to have had the opportunity to learn from these young people. Teaching and learning is an interactive process and I was inspired by their youthfulness, creativity and spirit of adventure."

"Both the teachers and students in Inner Mongolia appeared to appreciate this opportunity to learn and practise English. For instance, a young man came to my office looking rather embarrassed. He told me shyly that he would very much like to practise his English conversation with me. His desire to learn is commendable and I was very pleased to be able to help."
