Handling Emergencies
Your safety is our top priority; Global Affairs Office (GAO) is always ready to assist you in case of emergencies. The following resources will direct your actions in handling emergencies.
In case of emergency, you are advised to:

Stay calm and keep in close contact with your family, EdUHK and your home university;

Listen carefully to public announcements in the media and at EdUHK, and keep updated on air and road transportation availability if necessary;

If you plan to travel outside Hong Kong during Hong Kong holidays, please let us know such that you can be contacted in case of emergency.

Check Hong Kong Security Bureau website regularly for any updates or alerts;
Before you leave Hong Kong, you can consider using the Hong Kong government's online Registration of Outbound Travel Information. After registration, the information you provided allows the Hong Kong Immigration Department to contact and assist you in an emergency outside Hong Kong. You will also receive travel alerts and related public information.
If anxious or under stress, contact the student support unit at your host institution or a counsellor at EdUHK for advice. Should you need to return home, please inform GAO once your return flight is confirmed and if any further assistance is needed. GAO and relevant units at EdUHK will work closely with you to sort out the necessary arrangements once you are home.
