Bonjour à tous!
The Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies offers a Minor in French Studies. It means that if you are interested in French, you can take a course to learn about the French Language or the French Culture. You can also take both courses. If you have any questions about French in general, you can ask the French International Tutors.
We (Victor and Eva) are here to help the French teacher with the French classes but also to promote French Language and Culture in the University. French is the third most studied language worldwide. 120 million people are currently learning French. Maybe you want to be part of them!
In order to introduce the French culture to the students of the University, our first event was dedicated to the Gardens of Versailles. France has a huge heritage that is why we thought that it would be important to organise an event about the Gardens of one of the most famous castles in the world “Le Château de Versailles”. It used to be the residence of a French famous King: Louis XIV!
We also organised another workshop about the life of Coco Chanel. The brand “Chanel” is famous all over the world. This is a symbol of elegance and lust. What people may forget is that Coco Chanel was not just a fashion genius, but she also did some questionable things such as collaboration with Nazis during the Second World War. This is why it is important to introduce her without forgetting certain points of her life.
Upcoming Events :

Eva El Issaoui
French International Tutor
My name is Eva. I am 21 years old. I come from a city called Saint-Etienne in the middle of France.
I just got my Bachelor Degree in Law. Law has nothing to do with teaching French, but I wanted to take a gap year. I have never been to Asia before and I am really glad to have come here this year. This is a way to share my culture and also to learn about a new one. I hope you will be happy to join us and interested in our events!
