Dr Mak Ho Yan Sabina

Mr Yau Sze Hok Chris

As an essential member of the Department of English Language Education (ELE), Chris demonstrates exemplary knowledge and skills in providing administrative support for colleagues to meet the research, teaching, and service goals of the department. He works independently with focused efficiency on important tasks and is equally effective at working with a team of administrative colleagues and assistants in more complex endeavors. He has a keen sense of responsibility and will ensure the successful completion of administrative tasks regardless of the time and effort required, often going above and beyond expectations and sacrificing personal time to support department goals.

Even in the most challenging periods, such as throughout the pandemic and when two other, more experienced administrative officers resigned from the department, Chris was quick to take up extra tasks and to train and support younger/new colleagues. Chris has contributed greatly to the smooth running of the department that has allowed ELE to make substantive progress towards its goals in recent years.
