人文學院管理層退修會議

A Faculty Retreat was successfully held on 16 October 2017 at Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Shatin.  Participated by the Acting Dean, Associate Deans, Heads and Associate Heads of Departments/CLE, as well as Programme Leaders of the undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes, the Retreat aimed to provide a platform to share views on the direction and the strategic development of the Faculty of Humanities (FHM), in particular issues relevant to the University’s Strategic Plan 2016-2025.

The half-day Retreat contained two sessions in which members split into groups to facilitate more in-depth discussion.  During the first session, various topics were explored, such as the FHM’s development in line with the University’s Strategic Plan, areas of priority, management and infrastructure, programme management and the Triennium Planning Exercise.  The preparation for the Research Assessment Exercise was discussed at the second session in which participants split into groups according to the unit of assessment including Chinese Language & Literature, English Language & Literature, and Translation, Linguistics & Language Studies.  The fruitful discussion at the Retreat also served as a basis for the Faculty to prepare the Faculty’s annual report for deliberation at the Senior Management Committee of the University in November 2017.
