Call for Nominations of Teaching Award 2015/16

The Faculty of Humanities (FHM) is now inviting nominations for the Teaching Award 2015/16. The Award aims to give due recognition and encouragement to staff members, on both an individual and a team basis, who have demonstrated exemplary performance/achievements in teaching. Recipient(s) of the Faculty Teaching Award will be automatically nominated for the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching. You may wish to note that,

 

  • There will be up to two awards each year;

  • For individual awardees, each will receive a certificate and a monetary award of HK$25,000 to be used for educational activities;

  • For winning teams, each team member will receive a certificate and share equally a monetary award of HK$25,000 to be used for educational activities;

  • Awardees’ names will be permanently displayed on campus; and

  • Awardee(s) would be automatically nominated for the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching and they are expected to make appropriate adjustments in the submission according to the updated selection criteria and related requirements of the President’s Award.

To widen participation, nominations can be made in a number of ways - by Faculty Dean, Head of Academic Department/Centre or any group of at least five staff members / current students / graduates. Self-nomination is also welcome. Full-time academic/teaching staff with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in the University at the time of nominations are eligible for nominations. A completed nomination form should be submitted to the General Office of respective Department/Centre. The nomination deadline is 26 February 2016.
