The Fong Yun Wah Distinguished Lecture Series, organized since 2009 with the generous donation from Fong’s Family Foundation, has been held for the 7th consecutive years. The programme aims to promote academic exchange in the aspects of Chinese Culture, Literature and Linguistics through lectures delivered by leading academics from Mainland China and a dialogue from HK’s academics annually.
This year, three renowned scholars from Peking University delivered the inspirational lectures, shared their expertise and discussed with Hong Kong-based guests-in-dialogue in October. They gave great demonstrations on research and teaching for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and also presenting the significance of ancient Chinese to the modern. It benefited more than three hundred and sixty external and internal audiences. Details of the lecturers this year are given below:

The Faculty of Humanities will pursue to organize the Lecture Series in the years ahead to enrich students’ learning experience while promoting studies of Chinese culture in the younger generation.
