Thanks to the generous donation from the Fong’s Family Foundation, the 9th Fong Yun Wah Distinguished Lecture Series organized by the Faculty of Humanities of The Education University of Hong Kong was held successfully in October 2017. Three leading academics in the domains of Chinese culture, literature and linguistics from Mainland China demonstrated rigorous research processes, showed fruitful results by delivering lectures and discussing with Hong Kong’s academics.
The rich and various lectures covered theories and application from ancient times to the present. In addition to exploring prospects of Chinese culture, literature and linguistics, they also discussed the importance of using the Internet and reading original texts. The lectures benefited nearly six hundred audiences. Details of the lectures this year are given below:

The series have promoted academic exchange among students, teachers and academics, since the first series of lectures in 2009. The Faculty of Humanities will continue to organize the Lecture Series to enrich students’ learning experience and arouse the youth’s interest in Chinese culture.
