Cultural Workshop: Introduction and Makeup Painting of Cantonese Opera

Cantonese Opera, which is an art of music, dance and drama, is popular in the areas Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macau. In the workshop on 24 November 2022, Ms. Jamie Ip, the student Instructor, is a Cantonese Opera performer with 12 years of experience and the champion of the Hong Kong Youth Cantonese Operatic Songs Singing Competition (2017-18). She gave an informative sharing on some basic knowledge and skills in Cantonese Opera. Students also have the chance to make their own traditional face masks while exploring this particular art in Chinese Culture.
