Successful Beijing Cultural and Language Immersion Study Tour organised by CLE!

From 27 May to 2 June 2024, the Centre for Language in Education (CLE) organised the Beijing Cultural and Language Immersion Study Tour sponsored by the University Grants Committee (UGC). 30 students from different programmes went to the Beijing Language and Culture University and participated in cultural exploration activities to learn more about Chinese culture. For example, they learned traditional Chinese landscape painting techniques in the class of Blue-and-Green Landscape painting. They also wore Hanfu (traditional clothing of the Han Chinese) and tasted whisking tea in the Song style to understand Chinese culture. They visited historical sites like the Temple of Heaven and the National Museum of China, and climbed the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. All students were very satisfied with the tour and found it very helpful in deepening their understanding of Chinese culture.
