Capacity Building

            Implementing
Trust is important during the implementation of PLC. The expectation of trust will affect the

effectiveness of a corporation or even turn it into a factor of conflict. Absence of trust could make
PLC dysfunction. Other potential factors that can lead to dysfunction of PLC include—

                    Lack of Commitment
                    Avoidance of Accountability
                    Inattention to Result
                  (Parker, 1990; Lencioni, 2002)

On the other hand, although conflicts could potentially create a negative impact on PLC,

constructive conflicts could bring in some benefits, including—

                    Innovation
                    Reflection
                    Evaluation
                    Profession development
                    Promote team development

As a leader, he/she should facilitate the discussion in his/her team and seize the opportunity to
resolve any misunderstandings, leading his/her team to a constructive outcome

In the context of capacity building, the Teacher Entrepreneurialism theory of Maxwell Ho can be
used as a tool to enhance the performance of teachers and students, hence enhance the overall
performance of a school. The following diagram can illustrate the impact of teacher

            entrepreneurialism.
