I was born in the Philippines and migrated to Hong Kong when I was thirteen. I attended United Christian College for seven years and, after finishing my secondary school studies, decided to take a gap year, during which I worked as a part-time English teacher in a local kindergarten and as a private tutor to a couple of children of pre-school and primary-school age. Currently, I am about to finish my bachelor’s degree in English education at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPU) and The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd), and I am looking forward to graduating in a few months.
I have been teaching English, mostly privately, for a few years now, but I have never had the opportunity to work with cross-border children. I am very excited about this new experience, which, I believe, will be a meaningful one and more of a learning experience for me than a teaching experience.
