內地跨境及新來港學童的校本支援計劃

My name is Karen, Yau Hei Man. Before studying in the PGDE program at the HKIEd, I achieved my degree in the University of Hong Kong. When I was a secondary school student I made the decision to become a teacher after my graduation. Therefore I have been involving myself in various teaching programs, including volunteer work and summer courses, from which I have gained valuable experiences. Currently, I have become aware that the new immigrants are indeed in need, and this is the reason why I would like to participate in this program.

In this program, I will put my greatest effort into helping both the students and their parents to realize the importance of the English language, and to getting the students to become more motivated through continuous encouragement. Understanding that this experience of teaching would enhance my knowledge and skills, I believe I will especially benefit and learn how to teach better through the feedback from the students.
