Field Experience
Students will be placed in schools, which are important sites for learning to teach and where they will have the opportunity to practise, interpret, generate, and experiment with theory. Teaching Practice for local students will be conducted in local schools. Non-local students may conduct their Teaching Practice at local schools or schools outside Hong Kong, such as mainland-based schools catering to Hong Kong pupils and offering the Hong Kong curriculum (內地設立港人子弟學校). The medium of instruction for Teaching Practice may vary depending on the policy of the schools.

Immersion Programme
The Immersion Programme is a compulsory part of the programme and students must participate and meet the requirement of the programme successfully in order to graduate. In the programme, they will:

Career Prospects
The programme is designed to provide students with the disciplinary and professional competency to teach in local primary and secondary schools. Majoring in English with in-depth knowledge of digital literacy, graduates of the programme will have excellent career prospects.
They will be able to apply to become fully qualified and registered teachers in Hong Kong, help primary or secondary students learn English as a second language, and embark on a wide variety of language and digital careers, such as education, media, journalism, publishing, tourism, communication, digital content production, social media management, government, charity and international development.

Note: As the 2025/26 academic year is the beginning of the 2025/26 - 2027/28 triennium, the programmes to be offered in the 2025-28 triennium with allocation of UGC-funded places are still subject to the Government's approval.
