• EdUHK is one of the teacher education providers in Hong Kong. Graduates of the University’s teacher education programmes are eligible to apply to become fully qualified Registered Teachers. For registration as a teacher, graduates should approach the Teacher Registration Team of the Education Bureau (EDB) to submit applications directly. All applications will be independently assessed by the EDB which will consider, among other things, whether an applicant has been convicted of any criminal offence (including sex-related offences) in Hong Kong or elsewhere, or is involved in any ongoing criminal proceedings or investigations. • The University requires students of our full-time teacher education programmes to declare all records of conviction and prosecution of sex-related offence in Hong Kong or elsewhere, and report on whether they are involved in any ongoing criminal proceedings or investigations, and to provide relevant details prior to the undertaking of teaching practice. The University reserves the right to deny students with records of conviction or prosecution of sex-related offence attendance or access to the block teaching practice, whereby their graduation requirements of the programmes will not be met. 
• Students admitted into this programme are required to visit the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and/or other parts of Mainland China. The programme may also require students to participate in other non-local learning experience for completion of the programme. While the visits are subsidised, students are required to contribute part of the estimated cost of the visits ("students’ contribution"), whereas any personal entertainment, meals expenses, travel document fee and personal insurance costs shall be at students’ own expense. The estimated cost of the visits and students’ contribution for students admitted to the coming cohort is yet to be available due to a variety of factors such as inflation of cost of the visits, trip duration, traveling expenses, the exchange rate, etc.
• Starting from the 2024/25 cohort, students admitted to the full-time Bachelor of Education and Double Degree programmes are required to fulfil the “Exit Requirements for Teachers’ Professional Conduct and Ethics”, which consists of three components: 1) Fulfilment of assessment requirements of Field Experience; 2) Satisfactory completion of two required courses related to Teachers’ Professional Conduct and Ethics; 3) Fulfilment of relevant co-curricular requirement. 
• Students admitted into this programme are normally assigned a focus of study (i.e. primary or secondary level) by the end of their first year of study. The focus of study will be reflected in the arrangements for their Field Experience and adopted for the purpose of application for Registered Teacher in Hong Kong upon graduation. This programme is designed to provide students with the disciplinary and professional competency to teach in both primary and secondary schools. However, recognition of Registered Teacher in primary or secondary schools in Hong Kong is subject to the decision of the Education Bureau (EDB). Graduates of this programme are required to approach the Teacher Registration Team of the EDB to submit applications directly and all applications will be independently assessed by the EDB. 
• Students admitted to this programme are required to participate in a compulsory Immersion Programme. While Immersion Programmes are heavily subsidised, local students are required to contribute no less than 18% of the best estimated cost of the Immersion Programmes ("students’ contribution"). Non-local students are also required to contribute no less than 18% of the best estimated cost of the Immersion Programmes ("students’ contribution"). 
• As a prominent feature of our teacher education programmes, students are required to conduct and pass the Field Experience which lasts for around 16 weeks during their studies in the programmes. This is a requirement for students’ graduation and final registration as a Registered Teacher in Hong Kong, subject to the approval of the Education Bureau. Non-local students may be arranged to conduct their Field Experience at local schools or schools outside Hong Kong, such as schools for Hong Kong children on the Mainland (內地港人子弟學校) which are teaching Hong Kong curriculum, according to the placement allocation policy and subject to the availability of such placement. Non-local students are required to bear the respective costs of the Field Experience at schools outside Hong Kong, including travel expenses, accommodation fees and other living costs such as meal expenses, personal entertainment, etc.  The final decision on the allocation of Field Experience will rest with the School Partnership and Field Experience Office and/or the relevant Faculties.
