Master of Arts in Music Education [MAME]
The MAME programme aims to deepen and strengthen students’ professional aptitude in their chosen music domain such ascomposition, performance, or research; cultivate synergy between subject and pedagogical strengths in music; and help students develop and apply skills in creative and critical
thinking, research and arts practice to the professional fields of music and music education.
By the end of the programme, participants should:
- Apply new pedagogic approaches to promote musical development;
- Integrate diverse historical, social-political, cultural, philosophical and aesthetic understandings of music;
- Carry out research and critical analysis on issues related to contemporary music education;
- Demonstrate understanding of global perspectives as they relate to the development of knowledge and skills across different musical pursuits; and
- Create and express music via performance, research, composition, or practice-based projects.
