Unleashing the Power of Collaboration: FHM's Rewarding Visit to the GBA

FHM recently conducted a fruitful academic visit to higher education institutions in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) from 22 to 25 April. Led by Dr Liang Yuan, Associate Professor from the Department of Chinese Language Studies and Director of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Higher Education Alliance for Chinese Language Education" and joined by FHM Dean Prof John Erni and other Alliance members, the team aimed to promote collaboration among member institutions of the Alliance and enhance EdUHK's reputation in the GBA.

During the visit, the team visited some eminent educational institutions, including Shenzhen University, Jinan University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and the University of Macau, and had constructive discussions with these institutions on collaborative educational initiatives, internship programmes, academic research cooperation, and joint academic conferences and workshops.

Meanwhile, the team also visited the head office of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance" and welcomed Guangdong University of Foreign Studies as a new member of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Higher Education Alliance for Chinese Language Education". The team reached agreement on various collaborative initiatives with the universities they visited, including a symposium on digital humanities in late 2024 and a student paper competition in the first half of 2025.
