We are excited to share that the Faculty of Humanities (FHM) hosted a research postgraduate (RPg) student gathering on 5 October 2023. The gathering established a platform for RPg students, their supervisors, and faculty management to share their research experiences and exchange ideas.
Dr Andy Chin, Associate Dean (Research and Postgraduate Studies), welcomed our new students, introduced the FHM research community and promotional strategies on RPg recruitment, and highlighted the various supports and trainings provided by FHM.
Prof Michelle Gu, Dean of Graduate School and Professor of the Department of English Language Education, emphasised the importance of research publication and motivated students to contribute to the community in practice.
Dr Robert Tsaturyan, Post-doctoral Fellow at the Research Centre for Chinese Literature & Literary Culture (RCCLLC), shared his view on the importance of building research network. He encouraged students to actively engage in the research community and develop their identity in the world.
Prof John Erni, Dean of FHM, gave his closing remarks by highlighting the importance of 2Ps: Proactive and Professional. He encouraged RPg students to proactively form their own research groups, be professional in the academic community, and sustain lifelong connections.
We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the gathering. Stay tuned for more exciting updates on our research and academic endeavors!
