FHM’s Dr Wang Lixun and Dr Ma Qing Joining EdUHK-Zhaoqing Education Bureau’s GBA Education Exchange Event

To implement the framework agreement signed by the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Education Department of Guangdong Province on strengthening educational exchange and cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong, a free public lecture series was held on January 6-7, 2024. This event was co-organised by EdUHK and the Zhaoqing Education Bureau, and was attended by more than 13,000 teachers from the GBA.

Led by Prof Lo Sing Kai, Associate Vice-President (Internationalisation) of EdUHK, Dr Wang Lixun, Associate Dean of the FHM, and Dr Ma Qing (Angel), Associate Professor of LML, gave public lectures (in face-to-face and online hybrid form) on utilising computer and corpus technology to assist in English language teaching. The teachers attended the lectures with great enthusiasm and found the approaches and resources particularly useful.  They highly commended the quality of the lectures.

This public lecture event has established a friendly platform for educational exchange in the GBA, promoting the complementary benefits of educational resources between the two regions and jointly advancing the high-quality development of education in the area. It represents an initial exploration and a significant initiative in educational exchange and cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong, marking a new era and holding practical significance.
