Many other cases have since followed this pronouncement
                                  of law, and have extended it to different situations. For

                                  example, in Myton v Wood and others (1980) the principle
                                  was mirrored when the judge said:

                                  “The duty of a local education authority in the provision of
                                  transport for children attending schools … is to take such
                                  care as a reasonably careful father would take for his own

                                  children.”

                                  A teacher as a trained professional is expected to be able to
                                  uphold high standards of supervision, care and control when
                                  dealing with groups. The standard of care to be exercised in

                                  a particular situation has to be reasonable in the light of that
                                  teacher’s knowledge, experience and training.
