In May 2024, we are honored to have teachers and students from Shimian, Sichuan and Nanjing Normal University of Special Education to visit our center and exchange.
Integrated Centre for Wellbeing (I-WELL) has been in close contact with the participating schools in Shimian, Sichuan since the completion of Professional Training in Psychotherapy in Sichuan in February 2024.
Ms. Liu Kajing from Chengdu College of Arts and Sciences and Ms. Zhang Li from Chengbei Middle School shared the theme of Psychological Group Counseling and Post-Disaster Psychological Support during the parallel session of the "Hold You Together" Special Education Seminar on May 7, showcasing the educational development and project achievements in Shimian with other researchers, scholars and special education experts from Mainland China, Hong Kong and other parts of the world.
Teachers and students from Shimian visited the facilities and equipment of the Center after the seminar to promote professional exchanges on research support for special education between the two places.
On the 23rd of the same month, Mr. Zhao Weijian from Nanjing Normal University of Special Education led a delegation of 6 students to the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) for study and research.
The delegation visited the Department of Special Education and Counseling (SEC) and I-WELL and gained an in-depth understanding of the teaching mode of integrated education in Hong Kong, as well as the one-stop service process and results of special education. They said that the trip had opened up their horizons and helped to promote the development of the institute, and at the same time, through the inter-collegiate academic exchanges, they could promote the professional cooperation and successfully establish links to attract more outstanding special physical education talents from the Mainland China to come to Hong Kong.
