The clinical work of Dr Lorinda KWAN-CHEN (Affiliated researcher of IWELL and Senior Lecturer of SEC) on the establishment of tele-practice (online therapy) in Hong Kong since 2016 and during covid-19 has been recognized by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). She was invited to speak at ASHA's SIGnature series on the topic of Global Perspectives on Telepractice during the time of covid-19. She was the only speaker from Asia among international speakers from Australia, Europe, and USA.
The speech was on her endeavor in setting up telepractice for patients with Parkinson's disease, stroke and dementia in this part of the world for speech therapists as a practice model.
