On October 30, 2024 ,  Ambassador Mr Wang Shiting, Secretary of the Party Committee of China Foreign Affairs University, visited The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) to provide guidance and engage with postgraduate students. A total of 31 postgraduate students participated in this meeting with the ambassador.

The meeting began with a welcoming address from Dr. David Wong Yau-kar, Chairman of the EdUHK Council. Following that, President Lee Chi-Kin introduced the University's development trends to the distinguished guests.

Ambassador Wang then delivered a speech, sharing the history of China Foreign Affairs University and offering insights into the "Changes in China" and "Changes in the World". He highlighted the shifting global landscape, emphasizing the rise of the East and the decline of the West.

During the Q&A session, our PhD, EdD, and MEd students had the opportunity to interact with the ambassador. EdD student Hao Jing and PhD student Mwailhola, Moyo Osiah posed questions in both Chinese and English, allowing for a rich exchange. The ambassador shared his motivations for pursuing a career in diplomacy and discussed how China is leveraging technology to enhance diplomatic efforts and improve the well-being of its people.

The postgraduate students expressed their gratitude for this rare opportunity to engage with a high-ranking diplomat, noting the valuable insights gained from the exchange.
