I find supervision of doctoral students a truly rewarding experience, as it is mutually beneficial to me and my students. By working closely with each other, my doctoral students and I are able to explore research topics of common interests together, and establish close research partnership, which will continue even after the students’ study period. I see my doctoral students as research partners rather than students, and I seize every opportunity to collaborate with them through giving co-authored paper presentations at international conferences, and publishing co-authored articles in reputable journals.

Dr WANG Lixun is a passionate teacher and researcher. He is a Series Editor of the Springer book series ‘Multilingual Education’. He has published widely in reputable journals such as System, Language Learning and Technology, Computer-Assisted Language Learning, and International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism. He is the author of Introduction to Language Studies (2011, Pearson) and co-author of Academic Writing in Language and Education Programmes (2011, Pearson), Trilingual Education in Hong Kong Primary Schools (2019, Springer), Identity, Motivation, and Multilingual Education in Asian Contexts (2020, Bloomsbury), and Is English an Asian Language? (2021, Cambridge University Press).
