The journey of a RPg student transcends the mere completion of a thesis; it is a transformative odyssey, a cultivation of modesty, curiosity, and intellectual broadmindedness. One must remain ceaselessly curious, honing both ears and eyes to the nuances of the world, and fostering a heightened sensitivity to every facet of existence. This is the greatest benefit of being a RPg student. I sincerely hope every RPg student at the Education University of Hong Kong can have a fruitful and rewarding journey.
成就:
Since joining as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chinese Language Studies in 2019, I have actively immersed myself in extensive teaching and research pursuits. My contributions span a variety of publications in reputable journals, encompassing Chinese heritage language education, multilingual and multicultural identity, foreign language learning, and teacher training.
My single-authored monograph titled "Identity of Chinese heritage language learners in a global era" was published by Routledge in 2022.
Two of my EdD students, Dr. Zhang Yue and Dr. Gao Xiaofen, graduated in 2023 and 2024 respectively. Both have since made noteworthy strides, now contributing as academic researchers in higher education in mainland China.
Currently, I serve as the Principal Supervisor for Ms. Du Yuji, a recipient of the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS), whose work focuses on co-teaching practices in overseas Chinese as a foreign language classroom. I am also the Principal Supervisor of Ms. Xie Jiaye (EdD student), whose work delves into parental involvement and Chinese heritage language learning in Hong Kong international schools.
