Mr Wai Hoi-ming, Year 4 Student from the Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Chinese History) in 2024/25
The Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Chinese History) offers students a variety of learning experiences such as field trips and classroom observations. Among these, visiting the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office - to see local intangible heritage exhibits and listen to staff presentations - deepened my understanding of community-based intangible heritage projects and gave me firsthand insight into how Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage is being preserved and passed down. Additionally, the programme provides practicum opportunities for students. During my practicum, I gained a better understanding of the daily work of in-service teachers, learned how to interact with students, and established a good teacher-student relationship with them. The practicum also allowed me to rediscover my original intention and passion for being a teacher, reflecting on and exploring my personal traits and educational style. This laid a solid foundation for my future career in education.
Starting from the 2025/26 academic year, the Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Chinese History) programme will be transformed into a co-terminal double degree programme - Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Heritage Education and Arts Management and Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Chinese History) programme.
