ELPA
What is ELPA?
ELPA is a performance-based English language test, aimed at assessing academic English usage in a tertiary education context. The assessment is split into two main components:
Written Test – 2.5 hours
Tasks aim to test listening, reading and writing skills as well as the ability to make use of vocabulary.
Speaking Test – 8 minutes
It is a one-to-one interview with an examiner. The test assesses your ability to:
develop a given topic adequately and coherently;
use grammar accurately and appropriately;
use vocabulary accurately and appropriately;
pronounce words clearly and accurately, and use natural speech features, such as word stress and intonation, to enhance meanings effectively.
