4. It doesn’t matter if it gets hacked,
and it might get pinned up.
Strangely, in the Internet age, we worry more about others reading our
mail and about protecting our privacy than we did before. With a postcard,
all of this is forgotten – we actually hope someone will read it. A good
piece of thought-provoking information is worth sharing with everyone.
Depending on what you discover and share, you might get quoted or,
better yet, the card might be pinned up on the wall of the staff room for
others to think about.
5. It is an excellent way to ramp up your creativity
and awareness of the world around you.
Being creative does not usually mean sitting in a dark room until a new idea
or concept springs to life. Creativity is more likely sparked by something
in the environment around you. Innovative leaders get their inspiration
by being aware of and constantly scanning the environment for new ideas
and concepts. This does not mean just copying, but taking an idea and
re-engineering it to make it useful to their own schools. Where do they find
such ideas?
