best professional development opportunity EsF teachers have ever had?
A: Yes, this is true. This story as passed between participants and is also known as the ‘Hyperlink’.
Q: during the programme participants have to work in Alliances. What if i don’t get on with any
of my team members?
A: Leadership is about influencing people. if you cannot work effectively with your Alliance
members you will be rejected. This is known as the ‘Weakest Link’.
Q: is there any relationship between this programme and the Links of London jewellers?
A: No. But we have started a ‘Gifts Register’ at Links of London for your convenience when it
comes to choosing the right ‘end of programme thank you gift’ for Allan and Terry (the programme
developers).
Q: i would like to know if there is a dress code during the programme sessions? i’ve heard that
during leadership programmes men have to wear suits and ties?
A: No, suits are not required; however, normal school attire is expected as long as your school
requires long sleeves and trousers. This is known as the ‘Cuff Links’.
Q: during the matinees, Forums and Live-in-Learning meals will be provided. Will special diets
be catered for?
A: Yes, provided that you all eat meat. This is known as the ‘sausage Links’ .
Q: Can we please go on a junk trip during Links?
A: No, because we have been restricted to ‘Land-based Activities’ only.
Q: i am concerned about the Links Postcard. i have been trying to find an interesting/new idea to
share with my colleagues but as i have only been teaching for a few years i am worried that what
is new to me may be old and dull for the others like yourself who have been around for awhile.

Q: i don’t know what to do for my Agency Project. it is supposed to be a ‘real’ leadership activity to
improve some aspect of my school, BUT there lies the problem. my school doesn’t have any
need to improve. Compared to other EsF schools our school is really effective and achieving
great results. What should i do?
