Outcome 1:

               Personal Leadership Charter

A Personal Leadership Charter is a process (with defined outcomes) which aims
to help leaders determine what they expect from themselves and what others
can expect from them in terms of their vision, values, capabilities and practices.

The Charter includes two formal outcomes – a Leadership Platform and a Charter
statement. Each of these are explained further in separate booklets.

               Leadership Platform

A Leadership Platform is a statement of a person’s leadership vision, values and
beliefs. it is a foundation of the development of a Personal Leadership Charter.
in fact, it is a foundation of your leadership.

Each leader will develop a Platform. The task allows plenty of room for
personalization and contextualization. The platform aims to provide a ‘stable’
(though certainly not static) foundation upon which leaders can make decisions,
evaluate issues and embark on inquiry into change and improvement. A leader’s
Platform is what guides action and enables others to know what the leader
stands for. As such it defines and articulates their vision and values.

in putting together a Leadership Platform you are not committing to it forever. A
Platform is as much a process as a fixture – everything except your most deeply
held values may mature with new knowledge and experience. Previous middle
leaders’ Platforms can be found at the URL below. You will enjoy reading them.
