Leader’s Portfolio Guide Evidence Appraisal / Reflection
School Organisation chart
Evidence that you a well organized leader; that you
have established a clear leadership framework;
that everyone working in your school clearly
understands their roles and responsibilities; that
there are no conflicts between you and your senior
leadership team over leadership responsibilities.
Evidence that you have signed off on position
descriptions for all staff (you know what everyone
in your school is doing).
Assets
Evidence that you are a careful leader; that you
have established systems for monitoring all the
school’s assets; that you are concerned to ensure
that the school’s resources are not under-utilized;
that you are not putting the schools resources at
risk because of lack of regular maintenance or
theft; evidence that you have future planning for
major works and capital replacement (e.g.
replacing computers, desks and chairs, etc).
Occupational Health and Safety
Evidence that you are a caring leader; that you
have established systems for regular monitoring of
the workplace safety of the school. Evidence that
you know the legal ramifications of a failure to
establish safe work practices. Evidence that you
have taken steps to ensure that your school is a
safe, pleasant environment in which to work.
Evidence that you have a system for recognizing/
identifying each staff member’s particular needs
for work place support.
Behaviour Management
Evidence that you are a learning leader; that you
have put in place strategies for improving students’
attainment in national assessment programs; that
not only have you set in place mechanisms for
collecting and tracking students achievements
across your school, but that you have used this as
benchmark data in order to find ways to improve
results.
