The Codes set out requirements on different aspects of the

management and operation of a school. There are stipulations as to
the minimum number of managers of schools without an IMC. The
different categories of grants to a school are detailed and the Codes

regulate how the school can require payment of tuition fees from
students and deal with recurrent and non-recurrent grants. The Codes
also regulate the manner in which a school should deal with donations.
Detailed provisions also regulate the employment of teaching and non-

teaching staff, and the terms of such employment. The legal effect of
these provisions is to imply all terms as contained in the relevant Code
of Aid into the contract of employment. The contract must therefore

be drawn with care, especially since the employment of a teacher is
                         not easily terminable.
