I feel truly honored and privileged to receive the MPPM Entrance Scholarship from the Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies, The Education University of Hong Kong.
The Scholarship provides me with financial support and allows me to continue my studies at the EdUHK and further explore the field of public policy and management with sufficient resources like having Dr Isabella Ng serve as my supervisor.
Without the Scholarship, I am afraid that my dream of having a postgraduate study and conducting research related to Shan Burmese migrants in Thailand can never come true.
I appreciate the Programme and the Department for providing students with Scholarship opportunities.
- By Mr SAI Hkur (MPPM student, September 2023 Cohort)

In this presentation, Prof. Hayhoe shared with us the features of Chinese culture that drew her into 50 years of interaction with Hong Kong and a broader China. She enlightened us to learn lessons from Chinese civilization that have given people agency, strength, resilience and hope in the time of drastic social changes. She guided us to understand a constant balancing between opposites rooted in Chinese culture - the discipline of Confucian learning patterns and the deep insights coming from Daoist thought.

The first MPPM Policy Case Competition, held by the Master of Public Policy and Management (MPPM), was successfully organized on 18 November 2023. It was an attempt to provide a hands-on opportunity for students to analyze and resolve real-life public policy problems through case studies.
The competition entailed a rigorous three-stage process, including a poster presentation in the first round, a PowerPoint presentation in the Semi-final, and a debate in the Final, which tested the participants' abilities, knowledge, and resilience.
We are proud to announce ASEAN (Mr Sai Hkur and Ms Tun Pa Pa Kyaw) as the ultimate winners of this competition, and MTA for Cash (Ms Zhang Yingdi, Mr Xia Zhanbo, Mr Zhang Renzhe), Threesome (Ms Yi Shiyao, Ms Li Youying) and SOS (Ms Yan Ziyu, Mr Liu Chenjing, Ms Song Jiaqi, Ms Zhang Luqi) as the First, Second and Third Runner-Ups respectively. They all showed their dedication, expertise, and exceptional performance across all stages of the competition.
Our congratulations are also extended to all other participants, who joined and demonstrated tremendous skill and commitment throughout the competition.
Congratulations to the winner and all the participants for their remarkable performances!

The 2019 Greater Bay Area (GBA) blueprint has pointed to a high concentration of key factors of innovation, an advancement level of internationalization and solid foundation of cooperation within the region. But it also alludes to issues of overcapacity, imbalance and mismatch of the supply and demand structure, as well as institutional differences under 'one country, two systems', that may affect market connectivity and the flow of factors of production. How can Hong Kong, being a major hub of GBA, gain further strength in economic and social innovation and avoid becoming merely a 'follower' adapting to a GBA defined by other municipalities like Shenzhen and Guangzhou?
