An internship is a critical transition period for students to change their roles and connect with society. This is also a meaningful way to clarify career planning, explore employment paths, and improve professionalism. Today, we invited three students who were interns in the Legislative Council Members’ Offices to share their internship work and experience. Let’s hear what they say!

Congratulation to Dr ZHU Yuefeng Alex for being awarded a Public Policy Research (PPR) grant for his project, Promoting retirement financial planning activities and retirement savings outcomes of working adults in Hong Kong: A three component intervention.
Congratulations to Business Studies Team, led by Prof Christina Yu, with members including Dr Tan Weiqiang, Dr Eddie Cheng, Dr Amanda Chu, Dr Eric Law and Dr Vincent Cheng, has been awarded the Faculty Teaching Award 2022/23 (Group Award) of FLASS. This award recognizes their excellence in teaching, dedication and hard work in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for their students.

Congratulation to Professor CHOU Kee Lee for getting a GRF award 2023. His project, Identification of an Effective Two-stage Adaptive Intervention for Reducing Loneliness among Hong Kong Chinese Older Adults, is also the only project out of EdU’s 37 successful projects, which scored 5 marks!

CSQY Team (財思錢擁 in Chinese), formed by five MA(PFE) students, won the Bronze Prize at the Personal Finance Ambassador Programme 2022/23 on June 3, 2023.
The Personal Finance Ambassador Programme 2022/23 was co-organised by HKEX Foundation Limited, Investor and Financial Education Council (IFEC), and St James’ Settlement.
CSQY Team, as the Personal Finance Ambassador, promoted the financial education themed on “Money in the Tech” for the EdUHK students. They implemented various financial education activities, such as the Metaverse Platform, Instagram knowledge page, game-based workshops, booth consulting, etc. The campaign has attracted over 500 EdUHK students to participate in.
In March 2023, 45 students participated in the showcase to experience the Metaverse Financial Education Platform in person. The Metaverse Platform was formulated by our CSQY Team, where the EdTech was incorporated with financial knowledge.
The EdUHK students learned more about the “Tech-plus” financial instruments. They grew some responsible attitudes toward the emerging FinTech from the campaigns.

Delegates from Shandong Provincial Education Department visited the Department of Asian and Policy Studies at The Education University of Hong Kong on 15 June 2023.
The Associate Head of APS (Teaching and Learning), Dr Isabella Ng, briefed the delegation on the department’s latest development and explore possible areas of collaboration.
Mr Wang Fuhai, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Division, said, “We look forward to future collaborations of students and academia between Hong Kong and Shandong.”
