The Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies is one of the foremost departments of policy studies in Asia. Each year we attract students from Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, South Korea, Europe and North America to our programmes on Greater China Studies and Public Policy and Governance on policy challenges in Asia. Our programmes involve student engagement in field trips, study tours and internships in countries such as Taiwan, Thailand, China and Macau - among others.

Situated on the Tai Po Campus of The Education University of Hong Kong, the Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies is surrounded by a wealth of cultural and natural attractions, including the stunning natural parks of Pat Sin Leng, Plover Cove, Tai Mo Shan Country Park, and the sprawling Tai Po Waterfront Park which offers visitors kilometers of cycling and walking options as well as water sports on Tolo Harbour. Students will find hundreds of local dining and shopping options in the nearby Tai Po Market, and enjoy easy access to Hong Kong's extensive MTR train system, one of the most efficient mass transit systems in the world transporting some 5 million passengers a day.
