Abstract | Despite sharing similar geographical location, local culture and history, the Korean Peninsula consists of two extremes, i.e. vibrant South Korea and austere North Korea. The authors of the bestseller Why Nations Fail try to explain the difference from the perspective of economic and political institutions. In this seminar, the two speakers who have abundant first-hand experience in North Korea will share their insights and experiences in the world’s most isolated country and talk about the politics, economy, and popular culture of North Korea. |
