[Call for Submissions] 10th Anniversary of the Faculty of Humanities Poetry Writing Competition

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Faculty of Humanities, EdUHK, Department of Literature and Cultural Studies has organized a Poetry Writing Competition to promote literature writing in university. You are cordially invited to join the competition. The competition information and arrangements are as follows:
Theme:
Anniversary
Eligibility:
All EdUHK undergraduate students, postgraduate students, staff members and alumni
Category:
- Chinese: Please refer to the Chinese version of the competition information and arrangement.
- English: Based on the theme “Anniversary”, your submission must be a poem up to 30 lines long.
Prizes for each category:
- First Prize (HKD$750 book voucher)
- Second Prize (HKD$500 book voucher)
- Third Prize (HKD$250 book voucher)
- Each winner’s work may be published in a local literary magazine.
Selection procedure:
All submitted works will be reviewed and winners will be selected by Dr Eddie Tay (English Poetry), Mr Yam Gong (Chinese Modern Poetry) and judges from Department of Literature and Cultural Studies, EdUHK.
Terms and regulations:
- The submission deadline is 28 September 2022.
- All participants are required to complete the online application form (link) and upload their submissions (in word format) using the form.
- The submission document must not include any personal information. Please fill in your personal information in the online application form only.
- Each participant can only participate in one category (either Chinese or English) and submit one piece of writing.
- The results of competition will be released in late November. Winners will be informed and invited to attend an award ceremony.
- Please be reminded that the submitted piece of writing must be the participant’s own work, unpublished in any means before, and is not simultaneously submitted to any other similar event or competition. Participant who violates the regulations will be disqualified.
- The decision of Department of Literature and Cultural Studies is final.
