Recruiting Pre-service Teachers to Use the Storybook for Teaching

This project is currently recruiting trainee teachers to use the children’s storybook Grandma, It’s Me! as teaching material to design lesson plans and conduct teaching activities for kindergarten and primary school students, focusing on the theme of dementia. Through this heartwarming story, we hope to guide children to understand dementia, learn empathy and acceptance, and cultivate compassion and care. We invite passionate educators to join us!
 


Teaching Material
"Grandma, It’s Me!" Storybook is a children’s read that uses relatable narratives, reflective questions, and guidance on supporting family members with cognitive impairments to enhance children’s understanding of dementia.

  • Content: Presents dementia-related knowledge through lively, educational stories accompanied by captivating illustrations.
  • Features: Includes reflective questions to encourage children to relate personally and understand the needs of elderly family members.
  • Author’s Note: Provides guidance on caring for family members with cognitive impairments, emphasizing patience and the importance of shared life experiences.

Activity Steps

Step 1:
Click here to download the e-version of the storybook "Grandma, It’s Me!" and use it to design lesson plans and conduct teaching activities.

Step 2:
After teaching, click here to complete a simple record and upload the lesson plan (content is flexible; teaching language can be Chinese or English).

*Participants who complete the activity will receive an ELAT record and a certificate of participation as encouragement.

Additional Rewards

If you upload a teaching video (pre-recorded or conducted live on the platform) to the AI Teacher Training Platform and complete a brief feedback questionnaire, you will also receive:

  • 2 hours of iWork compensation
  • A platform analysis report
