The Charles K. Kao Foundation for Alzheimer

In today’s society, dementia has become a global health concern, particularly for an aging population like Hong Kong’s, making public awareness even more urgent. To address this need, this project will unfold in three phases, combining storybooks, interactive teaching, creative competitions, and multi-party collaboration to enhance societal understanding and awareness of dementia, while also promoting intergenerational communication, educational innovation, and community engagement.
We hope this project will create a ripple effect of awareness within the community, not only supporting caregivers but also preparing the younger generation for the social challenges posed by an aging population. The project emphasizes the active participation of educators and students, striving to build a more knowledgeable and empathetic society, moving toward a future that understands and can respond to dementia.
This project aims to:
- Raise public awareness of dementia and promote brain health literacy.
- Foster intergenerational empathy and communication skills among students.
- Provide teachers with practical teaching experience and innovative resources.
- Promote long-term societal development by fostering a more inclusive and stigma-free attitude.
- Kindergarten students, primary school students, trainee teachers, in-service teachers, and their families.
