The 6th Annual e-Resources Roundtable/Poster Conference

On July 13th, 2024, our 6th Annual e-Resources Roundtable/Poster Conference united primary and university educators to delve into "Digital Storytelling and AI in the Classroom: Emerging Technologies in English Teaching."

Topics ranged from Generative AI-assisted language learning to making English engaging for young learners with eBooks, all discussed during an online seminar via Zoom.

The Roundtable began with a warm welcome from Dr. Tim Taylor, Associate Head of the Department of English Language Education at The Education University of Hong Kong, followed by presentations from four invited speakers.

🌟Mr. WONG, Ka Ho Denis, Lecturer from EdUHK, discussed the theme of "Making English Reading and Writing Fun with eBooks."
🌟Ms. YUNG, Fiona, Vice Panel Chair at HKUGAPS, explored the integration of A.I. into education with a focus on pathways to smarter teaching.
🌟Dr. MOORHOUSE, Benjamin Luke, an Assistant Professor at HKBU, delved into the topic of "Generative AI-assisted, Evidence-informed Use of L1 in L2 Classrooms."
🌟Dr. KOHNKE, Lucas, Senior Lecturer from EdUHK, shared insights on "Gen AI and Micro-learning Activities."

Attended by around 70 educators from Hong Kong, England, and Indonesia, the event emphasized how AI can optimize teaching methods and nurture students' passion for English. The engaging presentations sparked lively discussions, enabling participants to interact, question, and exchange insights with the speakers.
