Empowering Digital Learning by a Series of Online Teaching Video Programme in Primary Chinese Classroom and Beyond

The project aims to create a free online platform, to produce and broadcast a series of Chinese Language education video programme for local primary students. The series includes a total of 20 episodes, with approximately 5-6 minutes in each episode. The project team will select related e-books or e-passages and other interactive approach, like story-telling and games for each episode to cater for the interest and concentration span of primary students.

By incorporating 20 topics of writing, the videos can provide a comprehensive overview of various writing skills and techniques. This broad coverage ensures that learners have exposure to different writing styles, genres, and formats. It can also cater to the diverse interests and needs of students with varying levels of proficiency in writing. The videos can serve as a supplementary resource to traditional classroom instruction. Students can revisit the videos at their own pace, reinforcing the concepts taught in class or exploring additional topics. This flexibility allows for personalized learning experiences, accommodating different learning styles and preferences.

On the other hand, to enhance the effectiveness of the videos, each video will be paired with a corresponding set of teaching and learning materials, including a teaching plan, reading materials, worksheets, and answer keys that can be used for both teaching and self-learning purposes. The videos are planned to upload on website of EdUHK in November 2023 and made open to the public enables easy access for students, teachers, and the wider community.
