The 2016 Annual Research Forum (ARF) was organised by Linguistic Society of Hong Kong (LSHK) and hosted by Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies, EdUHK. This was the 10th ARF LSHK has ever organised. Over 60 members of LSHK gathered in EdUHK's Tai Po Campus to share the fruits of their latest research work.
The 2016 Annual Research Forum was a whole-day event.
It started off with the presentation of Outstanding Thesis Awards. Congratulations to Li Wan Yee Scarlet and Cheng Siu-Pong who were entitled to the Outstanding Thesis Awards.
Then, the special working group representative, Dr. Caesar Lun, updated their work on Cantonese proficiency test and Language Policy.
Then, the forum was streamed down into three sessions, specialised in topics of Cantonese writing, Cantonese phonology and syntax respectively.
The afternoon forum was streamed down into three parallel sessions, presenting and discussing various topics on Cantonese and other dialects.
The evening forum was streamed down into three parallel sessions, presenting and discussing different topics in Cantonese, sign language, jyutping and other languages.
The 2016 Annual Research Forum was concluded in generous applause.
