Floating City : International Conference on Xi Xi

Xi Xi is one of the most important and representative writers in the history of Hong Kong Literature. Her works not only express deep sympathy and wide solicitude as they describe various circumstances in the city, but also explore the frontier of Chinese contemporary literature. The achievements and influence of Xi Xi deserve and are receiving worldwide recognition. Last year, she became the first Hong Kong writer awarded the Newman Prize for Chinese Literature. Floating City : International Conference on Xi Xi aims to provide a platform for academic exchange centered on Xi Xi’s literary influence and to advance study and research related to Hong Kong literary scene. Participants are welcome to present their papers in either Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) or English.
 

Conference Date: December 10 (Thu) and 12 (Sat), 2020

 

Conference mode: The conference will be held in hybrid mode. It will be held simultaneously at the Council Chamber of The Education University of Hong Kong and online via Zoom. Speakers can choose to attend the event in-person or participate online.
